Jean Sebastian Giudice Vilar is  2019-20 ARCS/MWC Chapter Scholar and a second year scholar.  Sebastian is a Ph.D. Candidate in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the UVA Center for Applied Biomechanics.  His research focuses on traumatic brain injury using a combination of experimental and computational approaches, including performing experiments to quantify brain deformation during severe head roation and creating sophisticated, patient specific brain computational models that forge a link between brain mechanics and clinical outcomes.
