Angela M. Olsen, a global C-suite executive, was previously a member of ARCS Metro Washington Chapter (ARCS MWC), sponsored by Rebecca McNeilly, but stepped back due to family and work obligations. Angela is now ready to be reinstated as an ARCS MWC member and Rebecca and Elli Nesbitt are co-sponsoring her reinstatement.
Angela has a long history in the sciences, legal sectors, and STEM philanthropy. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in English and Biology from Hamilton College, she then earned a Master’s Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Catholic University of America, graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law, and then, in line with her progressively growing corporate leadership positions, focused on Executive Leadership & Management at the Yale School of Management.
Angela has held senior legal positions at global law firms, representing companies in matters relating to, among other things, biotechnology, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food. She was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, and then became Senior Advisor & Associate General Counsel at DuPont and Corteva Agriscience, two market leaders in agricultural biotechnology. Angela then served as General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at AquaBounty Technologies, an international biotechnology company, where she led some of the first innovative global biotechnology approvals in the world. Angela now serves as General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel), working to bring broadband technology and services to smaller and rural markets to expand economic development and needed access to education and healthcare services.
Angela looks forward to re-engaging with ARCS MWC, saying that she is excited and energized to stay connected with her STEM background and our amazing chapter.
