Welcome to Jamie Loving, our newest ARCS MWC member! Jamie joined in January and is sponsored by Helen Miller. Jamie and Helen have known each other a number of years through Langley High School and Trinity UMC. They worked closely together the year Jamie was President of the Langley PTSA and Jamie was a joy to work with!
Jamie is excited for the opportunity to join ARCS. She grew-up in rural West Virginia and attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. After graduating with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting, she moved to Northern Virginia and started work as an auditor with Arthur Andersen. During that time, she became a Certified Public Accountant and subsequently held accounting positions with Host Marriott and Urban Investment Advisors, LLC (formerly, Starwood Urban Investments, LLC) before starting her own firm, J. Loving & Co., in 2005.
Jamie’s favorite part of her accounting career is working with small and growing businesses, which stems from growing up with a family hardware business with which she is still involved. While at Andersen she was exposed to "start-ups" in biotech and software development among other industries. More recently she and her husband joined with a business partner to found Manteltop, Inc. in the digital memento space.
Jamie and her husband, James "Jamie" Loving, Jr. have been married for 27 years and have raised their two daughters in McLean, VA. Over the years, she has enjoyed volunteering in the local schools, most recently as the Langley High School PTSA president (2022-23). She also volunteers in various roles with her neighborhood civic association (past president), Trinity United Methodist Church, and McLean Little League.
Jamie attended the 2025 Eagle Award Gala and the 2025 Scholar Awards Reception as a guest of Julie Hohl. Through her discussions with the 2025 Scholars, she was excited to see concrete examples of the ARCS mission at work. She also joined us for the ARCS Loves You Coffee last February. Jamie is excited to be part of such an interesting and accomplished group of women dedicated to advancing important scientific research.
