Our current ARCS Light
Elli Nesbitt - 2025-26 ARCS Light
This year’s recipient of Metro Washington Chapter’s ARCS Light award is Elli Nesbitt! She served as Co-President of ARCS MWC from 2020 to 2023. You will often see her behind the camera at ARCS events, capturing our best moments. At the ARCS National level, she has served on the National Board’s Executive Committee, as Chair of the Council of Presidents, on the Nominating Committee, on the Communications Committee, on the Scholar Relations Committee, and on the National Newsletter Editorial Committee. Currently, she is Co-VP of Communications for our chapter.
In her 15 years as a member of ARCS, Elli has consistently demonstrated a willingness to give her time, talent, and treasure to the chapter. She has “stepped forward” when there has been the greatest need and works diligently for the success of the chapter. In addition to volunteering at ARCS, she worked for the U.S. International Trade Commission for 41 years and has been a Docent at the National Air & Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution, for almost 40 years.
