Elaine Petro, UMD Aerospace Engineering Student named ARCS MWC Scholar

University of Maryland student Elaine Petro has been named an ARCS Scholar for 2017-2018 by the Metropolitan Washington Chapter.  Petro is a PhD student in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland doing research on the development of a water-propelled helicon thruster with specific implulse control.  Petro is active in the department's Women in Aeronautics and Astronautics (WIAA) student group.  Elaine was a 2017 National Science Fellow, a 2015 Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellow and in 2016 was named one of Penton Aviation's 20 Twenties, representing tomorrow' engineering leaders.  See the full article from the University of Maryland here.
