From the Co-Presidents - September 2025

Posted on Monday, September 22, 2025

Dear ARCS MWC Members,

We are excited to start the 2025-26 year and are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Fall Membership meeting on Sun, Sept 14, at Lorraine Nordlinger’s home. We will have news to share about MWC’s goals for the coming year and this year’s ARCS Light awardee will be announced! The updated membership Blue Books will be distributed at the meeting. If you are unable to attend, your copy will be mailed to your home. A big shout out to Beth Czaban for all her work producing this year's Blue Book.

A highlight of our year is the annual Scholar Awards Reception on Oct 23 at the National Academy of Sciences. We hope you can all join us to meet and celebrate our amazing scholars. More details about this event can be found below.

In our 2025-26 Scholar Brag Sheet, you can learn more about the 19 PhD graduate scholars, including two PhD endowment scholars, and 2 undergraduate scholars - 21 in total! Additionally, we are most excited to hear from our featured speaker and ARCS MWC member, Dr. Kristen Bloschock, a distinguished 2004-2007 ARCS MWC Physics scholar at Georgetown University.

Research funding at our partner universities has been changing quickly, which makes the support we provide together even more meaningful for our scholars. Your generosity ensures they have the unrestricted funding they need to complete their studies — and we can’t thank you enough. We’d also love for you to keep spreading the word by inviting friends to join our chapter, and we hope to see you at the Fall Membership meeting and at the Scholar Awards Reception!
